Alright, so I’ve been eyeballing this Jaeger-LeCoultre JLC Master Ultra Thin Perpetual Calendar watch for a while now. You know, the one that’s super elegant and all that. I finally decided to get it.
I looked at maybe a hundred different watches, seriously, it felt like that many. But this JLC, it just kept calling my name. I pulled the trigger and ordered it. This is my first watch that I decided to wear it regularly.
The waiting was the hardest part! But finally, it arrived. The packaging was pretty standard, nothing too fancy. But the watch itself… wow. It’s even better in person. This particular model, the Master Ultra Thin Perpetual Calendar, is just so sleek. It’s 39mm in diameter and only 9.4mm thick, which is nuts for a watch with so many complications. I mean, it’s a perpetual calendar!
They offered it in a few different versions, like an 18K rose gold one with an eggshell dial. That one looked really nice, too, but I ended up going with the classic one.
I tried it on immediately, of course. But here’s the thing – the strap that came with it was way too big for my wrist. I guess I have skinny wrists or something. So, I had to order a smaller strap, which was kind of a bummer. I am waiting for it.
Anyway, while I’m waiting for the new strap, I’ve just been admiring the watch. The dial is so easy to read, even with all the different displays. It’s got the day, date, month, year, and even a moon phase indicator. And it’s all laid out so cleanly.
- First Impression: Totally blown away. It’s even more beautiful in person.
- Size: Perfect size for my wrist (except for the strap, haha).
- Complications: So many features packed into such a thin watch!
- Readability: Super easy to read, despite all the information on the dial.
They refreshed the whole Master Ultra Thin collection in 2024, and this Perpetual Calendar is one of the new interpretations. I feel like I got in at just the right time. I also noticed there is a Master Ultra Thin Moon, which also looks really good. I almost got that one.
I’ve had my hands on Rolex, various Omegas. I also owned a Damasko DC56 and a JLC Master Control before. But this JLC MUT Perpetual Calendar is a totally different feeling.
Honestly, I’m really happy with this purchase. Even though I have to wait for the new strap, I can already tell this is going to be one of my favorite watches. This is THE perfect watch imo.
I’ll definitely keep you guys updated once the new strap arrives and I can actually start wearing it around!
