Man, I gotta tell you about this watch I’ve been messing with. It’s a copy of the Jaeger-LeCoultre Master Ultra Thin Perpetual Calendar, the original order version. You know, I’ve always been into watches, and this particular model, the Master Ultra Thin Perpetual Calendar, has been on my radar for a while now.
So, I finally got my hands on one of these imitation pieces. First off, getting it was a bit of an adventure. I went through the usual channels, you know, the same place where I get my other replicas from. It took a little longer than expected, but hey, good things come to those who wait, right?
When the package finally arrived, I ripped it open like a kid on Christmas morning. The watch was tucked in there, all snug and secure. I picked it up, and I gotta say, it felt pretty good in my hand. It’s got some weight to it, but not too much. It’s supposed to mimic that 39mm diameter and 9.4mm thickness of the real deal, and I think they did a decent job with that. The lugs, the case back, all of it looked pretty spot on, at least to my untrained eye.
- First, I checked out the size.
- Then, I looked at the details like the lugs and case back.
- Finally, I started playing with the functions.
Now, I’m no watch expert, but I did some reading up on the original Jaeger-LeCoultre piece. Apparently, the LeCoultre trademark was used until 1985, and then they switched to Jaeger-LeCoultre. This replica has the Jaeger-LeCoultre branding, which makes sense since it’s trying to be a modern version. The original has this fancy perpetual calendar function, which means it can keep track of the date, day of the week, month, and even leap years without needing to be adjusted. It’s pretty wild.
This imitation, well, it tries to do the same thing. I spent a good chunk of time playing around with the little pushers on the side, setting the date, and all that. It’s not as smooth as I imagine the real one to be, but it works. I mean, I haven’t had it long enough to see if it can really handle a leap year, but for now, it’s showing the right date and month. The thickness is not exactly 9.4mm, maybe more like 10mm or even 10.95mm? It feels similar to the 40mm case with a 10.95mm thickness one from the internet.
Setting it up
I followed the instructions that came with the watch to set it up. It wasn’t too hard, just had to figure out which pusher did what. I set the time, date, day, and month. It took a bit of fiddling, but I got it all sorted out. It’s kinda cool to see all the little dials moving around.
So, yeah, that’s my experience with this Jaeger-LeCoultre Master Ultra Thin Perpetual Calendar imitation so far. It’s not the real thing, but it’s a fun little piece to have. It looks good, feels good, and seems to be working okay. If you’re into watches but don’t want to drop a ton of cash on the real deal, this might be something to check out. Just don’t expect it to be exactly like the original, and you’ll be alright.
