Okay, so, I’ve been eyeing this Fendi Mon Tresor bucket bag for a while now. I mean, who hasn’t? It’s such a classic, and I finally decided to make a good copy of it. Not the real deal, but something I could use that looks just like it.
The Inspiration
I started by looking up everything I could find about the bag. Turns out, this little beauty was first introduced back in 2018, and it has become iconic for Fendi. You know, Fendi, the Italian brand that started way back in 1925? It’s known for luxury and using the best leather and materials, and the bags show it with all those beautiful details.
Gathering Materials
First things first, I needed to gather all the materials. I found some brown calfskin that looked pretty close to what Fendi uses. It wasn’t the real high-end stuff, but it was good enough for this project. I also needed something to make that embossed FF pattern they’re famous for.
The Making Process
- Cutting the Leather: I carefully cut the calfskin into the shapes I needed for the bucket bag. This was tricky because I wanted it to be just the right size – not too big, not too small.
- Embossing: This was the fun part. I used a tool to carefully emboss the FF pattern onto the leather. It took a while to get it right, but I think I nailed it. It’s all hand-painted, just like the original. It feels so rewarding to get this done!
- Sewing it Together: After the embossing, I started sewing the pieces together. I’m not a pro at sewing, but I managed to put it all together. It really started to look like a bucket bag!
- Adding the Details: The Mon Tresor has these little details that make it stand out. I added some drawstrings and metal pieces to mimic the original design.
The Result
After all that work, I finally had my own Mon Tresor bucket bag! It’s not perfect, but it looks pretty darn close to the real thing. I even went to the Fendi store in Capannuccia, near Florence, to compare mine. It’s a huge place, about 30 something, and it’s right in the heart of Tuscany. I wanted to see the real deal up close, and I think I did a decent job copying it.
So yeah, that’s how I made a copy of the Fendi Mon Tresor bucket bag. It was a fun project, and now I have a stylish bag that didn’t cost me a fortune. It’s not about having the real thing; it’s about the process and being able to say, “Yeah, I made that!”
