Alright, folks, gather ’round, let me tell you about this little project I got myself into. You know how sometimes you see somethin’ shiny and you just gotta have it? Well, that’s what happened with this CopyOMEGA Ω Speedmaster Professional Moonwatch, the one with the see-through back.

First off, I started lookin’ around, readin’ up on these watches. I mean, this ain’t just any watch, it’s a Moonwatch! It’s been in space, for crying out loud, and back in 1965 NASA chose it for all the manned missions! Anyway, I found out the one I got, the new reference number is 311.30.42.30.01.005. I think the old one was 3570.50.00 or somethin’ like that. No big deal, just thought I’d mention it.

Now, I’ve always been a tinkerer, always takin’ things apart and puttin’ ’em back together. So, naturally, I started wonderin’ what makes this watch tick. The first thing I did was take a good look at the case back. It’s clear, so you can see all the gears and springs movin’ around. Pretty cool, right?

  • I grabbed my tools and carefully opened it up. Took some time, gotta be gentle with these things.
  • Took some photos along the way, so I wouldn’t forget how to put it all back together.
  • Then, I did some cleanin’. Man, you wouldn’t believe the dust that can get in there. Found out how to clean a Speedmaster, used a soft cloth, some gentle cleaner.
  • Got curious about other mods, too. Like, what if I wanted to upgrade the crystal on somethin’ like a Prospex Turtle? Found some info about that, too.
  • And get this, I even found out how to put back those tiny C-Clips on a Seiko pusher. Tricky, but I managed it.

After all that, I put the Moonwatch back together. Good as new, maybe even better. Now I got a watch that’s not just a pretty face, but somethin’ I really understand.

So, there you have it. That’s my little adventure with the CopyOMEGA Ω Speedmaster Professional Moonwatch. It’s more than just a watch to me now. It’s a reminder that sometimes, it’s okay to take things apart, see how they work, and put ’em back together. You learn somethin’ new, and you appreciate the thing even more.
