Alright, so I got into this whole watch thing a while back, and let me tell you, it’s a rabbit hole. I was looking for something cool, something with a bit of history, but not, you know, a total bank breaker. I heard about these OMEGA Speedmasters, the ones that went to the moon and all that jazz. But the price of those original Moonwatches? Forget about it.

Then I stumbled upon this “CopyOMEGA Ω Speedmaster 38mm Original order” thing. It’s like, a smaller version of the classic, and they say it’s got that same vibe, just, you know, more manageable. They called it a “neo-vintage model,” whatever that means. Introduced back in ’96, but it’s got all the updates.

So, I started digging. Checked out some forums, watched a few videos. Some folks were saying these 38mm versions are the way to go if you’re not into those huge watches. They’re kind of rare, not as many out there, I think that’s pretty neat.

    Here’s what I did:

  • First, I compared a bunch of pictures online. I looked at the real deal, the Moonwatch, and then these 38mm ones. The dials, the hands, the little numbers on the bezel (they call it the tachymeter, fancy, huh?). I wanted to make sure everything lined up right, you know? Some of these CopyOMEGAs, the spacing’s off, or the markings look wonky.
  • Then I checked out the sellers. Some of these guys were selling these watches with all the boxes, papers, even the little tools they give you. This one I found, it came with everything – outer sleeve, inner box, the whole shebang. Even had a warranty card, though it wasn’t dated. But the seller said it was bought in April 2021.
  • I read up on the movement. They were talking about these numbers, like 1861 and 3861. Turns out, that’s like the engine of the watch. The 3861 is the newer one, supposed to be better. This CopyOMEGA had it.
  • Finally, I just went for it. I messaged the seller, asked a few more questions, and then pulled the trigger. Paid the money, and waited.

A few days later, it arrived. And man, let me tell you, it’s a beauty. It feels solid, the bracelet’s nice, and it just looks…right. I’ve been wearing it for a few weeks now, and I gotta say, I’m loving it. It’s not too big, not too small, just perfect on my wrist. From the 1861 to the 3861 movement, It’s got that classic Speedmaster look, but it’s a little different, a little more unique. Plus, it didn’t hurt my wallet nearly as much.

I don’t know if I’ll ever own a real Moonwatch, but this CopyOMEGA Ω Speedmaster 38mm, this “Original order” thing, it’s pretty darn close. And for me, that’s good enough.
