Okay, so I finally decided to get myself a nice watch. Not just any watch, but the OMEGA Speedmaster Professional Moonwatch. Yeah, that one. I’ve been eyeing it for a while, you know, the one with the sapphire crystal and the Caliber 3861 movement. It’s a beauty.
First off, I did my homework. I mean, you don’t just drop this kind of cash without knowing what you’re getting into. I read a bunch of reviews, watched some videos, and even went to a couple of stores to try it on. I made a list of what I absolutely needed: it had to be a Speedmaster Professional, with that Moonwatch history. That was non-negotiable.
The Hunt
Next, I started hunting for the best deal. This wasn’t easy. I checked out a few different places, both online and in person. It’s not really my style to buy something like this online. I mean I am that kind of old school guy so that I prefer to purchase in an offline store. Eventually, I ended up at the official flagship store. I mean, you can’t go wrong with the official store, right?
Making the Purchase
Walking into the store, I was like a kid in a candy shop. So many shiny watches! But I knew what I was there for. I talked to the salesperson, a real nice guy who seemed to know his stuff. We chatted about the watch, its features, and of course, the price. After a bit of back and forth, I decided to pull the trigger. Paid for it, which hurt a little, but hey, you only live once. This kind of watch is really worth it, you know. This is my first OMEGA watch, and I have to say, I get the hype now.
The Wait
Then came the waiting game. Oh boy, was it tough. It felt like forever, but eventually, I got that sweet, sweet shipping notification. I tracked that package like a hawk, I was so excited. When the package finally arrived, I was almost too nervous to open it. But of course, I did.
Unboxing
And there it was. The OMEGA Speedmaster Professional Moonwatch in all its glory. It was even more beautiful in person. The way the light hit the sapphire crystal, the weight of it on my wrist, it was perfect. I remember I added a fresh, new Speedmaster Professional Moonwatch Sapphire to my collection. It’s a manual-wind watch, which means you have to wind it yourself. I like this. This is much more mechanical.
Wearing It Out
I’ve been wearing it every day since. And let me tell you, it’s a conversation starter. People notice it, and they always ask about it. It is not just a watch. It’s a piece of history, a statement. So, if you’re lookin’ for a watch that’s got some history, some style, and won’t cost ya an arm and a leg, this might be the one for ya. Despite having covered almost every Moonswatch variant on this blog, this one is my favorite. This is why I am sharing this with you guys.
If you’re thinking about getting a Speedmaster with an open case back, go for it. Just do your research, be careful with the installation, and enjoy the view. I am sure you will love it!
