Okay, so, I’ve been itching to get my hands on a classic Prada bag for a while now. You know, the kind that just screams “timeless” and goes with literally everything? Well, I finally decided to pull the trigger and remake the Prada Galleria Saffiano Leather Mini-Bag. Yep, the mini one.
First off, I started researching. I mean, you gotta know what you’re dealing with, right? This little baby is made up of 83 separate pieces. 83! Can you believe that? This explains a lot. And this bag, it’s been around since 2007, and they keep reinventing it. It’s like, the definition of a classic, but always fresh. They call it the “Galleria” because that’s the name of the place where Prada’s original store is. Pretty cool, huh?
So, I went on a mission to find all the pieces. It is a wild ride to find all the correct pieces. It took me a couple days just to get an idea of what to get. But I finally found them all online.
Then, I had to decide about leather. This is a big one. I read somewhere that Prada uses this special Saffiano leather. It’s genuine leather, but they treat it and emboss it, so it gets this unique texture. And get this – it doesn’t develop a patina like regular full-grain leather. Once the materials arrived, I got to work. I started by laying out all the pieces, just to get a feel for the bag’s construction. Then came the tricky part – assembling everything. I followed some guides online, but honestly, it was a lot of trial and error. It felt like putting together a really complicated puzzle, but way more satisfying. It took a couple of days and a bit of time, but it was so worth it. I kept messing up. But I finally figured it out.

And the Saffiano leather feels amazing – super durable and luxurious. I did it! I am so proud of myself right now. I can’t wait to show it to my friends.
